About Edgar "Buckey" Brown

Hi there, I’m Edgar "Buckey" Brown—though everyone’s called me Bucky for as long as I can remember. My musical journey started with my first piano lesson, which, to be honest, I hated. But thanks to my parents insisting I stick with it, I grew to appreciate music and the doors it could open. Over time, I transitioned from piano to trombone, and eventually to the bass guitar, finding my rhythm and passion along the way.

I began writing and composing music at 21, not fully knowing what I was doing at first. Through listening, learning, and collaborating with people more experienced than me, I developed my craft. While much of my career has been  in TV Broadcasting for 2 major networks, I spent time writing and recording music for others. I took time to write, produce and release my own album, which even earned a positive review in Billboard magazine—a milestone I’m incredibly proud of.

Though my songwriting and composing skills have grown over the years, my singing voice hasn’t followed suit. Inspired by a conversation with the legendary Quincy Jones, who reminded me that he doesn’t sing on his productions either, I’ve embraced working with talented vocalists who can bring my lyrics and melodies to life.

My writing spans genres—country, R&B, pop, and even dance music. I’ve always resisted being boxed into a single category, preferring instead to write songs that reflect the many shades of life, love, and relationships, both good and bad.

Music is a universal language, and I aim to connect with listeners through stories and melodies that resonate. Thank you for supporting my music. I hope you continue to enjoy my songs in the months and years to come!

Warm regards,
Bucky
